Time

For newborns, plan on a 2-hour session. That will give us more than enough time for diaper changes, feedings and snuggles here and there. If it takes a little bit longer, that's okay! The important thing is that the baby (and you) are happy!

For older children and families, make sure you've planned on a session lasting at least 1 1/2 hours.

Clothing

My favorite way to photograph newborns is when they are wearing nothing at all. If you aren't comfortable with this, a diaper cover is second best. But if you want them fully clothed, choose clothing that is neutral and comfortable. If the baby isn't comfortable, it will show in the photos and will look very unnatural. Older children and adults should stick to the classics - khakis, jeans, and classic tops.

Session Details

Your session doesn't have to be the typical "sit-down, pose and smile" session. If I am coming to your house, it's okay to let your kids play with toys, run around, and act crazy! That's where the best smiles come from! As long as there is light available, any room can be used as a backdrop

About Me

My photo
I am an on-location, natural light photographer. I don't have a permanent studio with a fancy light set-up - I come to you and use natural light! We can take photos in your home, in your backyard, at the park, or anywhere you and your family feel most comfortable. Contact me if you have any questions about location.
